Theater Design
These are a few concept sketches for designs for classic theatrical pieces. An exaggerated garden with Rococo era follies for A Midsummer Night’s Dream is meant to play up the highly sexualized and playful nature of the play. In Riders to the Sea, the ocean literally surrounds the home of the family that has lost almost an entire generation to stormy seas. And an oppressive ice cave is meant to capture the feeling of no escape experienced in Terra Nova; the set itself can also be lit from within to fully exploit light for dramatic effect.
